Midsommarfest is Andersonville’s annual summer street festival, now entering its 57th year. Each year, nearly 50,000 people flock to Clark Street from Foster to Catalpa for two days of music, dancing, kids’ entertainment and delicious food. Vendors from around the region sell their wares to passers-by, while ethnic dance troupes and cutting-edge bands keep the party going.

The Swedish American Museum is honored to be the sponsor of the festival’s south end. We have hired an amazing lineup of bands to entertain the crowd the whole weekend at the Swedish Stage, including the festival’s most popular act: Dancing Queen; an ABBA Salute! Midsommarfest opens with traditional dancing around the midsummer pole and people can learn to make their own midsummer wreaths.

The Museum is yet again selling Swedish food, serving traditional Meatballs, Pancakes, Hot Dog and more inside the Museum. In addition we have an outdoor flower crown making station, a kids tent and a beer tent. The Museum is free to all visitors during Midsommarfest.

Use #MSFAville to share your photos on social media!

There is a $10 suggested donation to enter the street festival (kids under 12 and seniors over 65 are free). The Museum is open regular hours during Midsommarfest unless stated otherwise.
