The Museum book club reads a wide range of books from the Nordic countries that can be bought in the Museum Store. In September we will discuss Independent People by Halldór Laxness. This novel, which won Laxness the Nobel Prize in Literature, features an Icelandic farmer who, after years of servitude, will go to seemingly any length to ensure his ongoing independence.
