A Zoom event. A broad exposé of what characterizes Swedish food culture. We’ll discuss the time before the great American migration with the spice roads to Sweden throughout history, and how food culture developed during the 1900s, including through increased interest in simplifying cooking, removing dessert from the everyday meal, and borrowing food trends from many countries. We will highlight regional differences in food history, and how modern food has been adopted in Sweden and led to new regional dishes.  After the lecture, there will be time for comments and questions.
