Talk by Karin Moen Abercrombie at the Ravenswood Lakeview Historical Association.

The Swedes in Chicago will cover the immigration of over 1 million Swedes between 1850 and 1930 and their impact on Chicago. Learn about some of the reasons the Swedes came, the trip, and what happened when they arrived. Karin Moen Abercrombie is the executive director at the Swedish American Museum. Ms. Abercrombie grew up in Gothenburg, Sweden and has lived in the U.S. since 1980. She enjoys combining her professional experience with her Swedish background at the Swedish American Museum.
