Movie Night

February 1, 2018 @ 6:00 pm

Swedish movies have been prominent internationally since the early 1900’s largely due to Greta Garbo. Since then the industry has produced many great names including Ingmar Bergman, Britt Ekland, the Skarsgård family, Peter Stormare and Noomi Rapase. Every year a couple of Swedish films make it to the cinemas in the US, but there are so many great ones that don’t make it across the Atlantic. Now you will have the opportunity to watch some of these here at the Museum. Swedish movie nights are back on the first Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. Sandwiches will be available for purchase.

Maria Wern – The Speechless God
The usually joyous Midsummer celebrations on the island of Gotland are shattered by two gruesome murders. The killings imitate crimes committed decades ago by a long-deceased killer. As Maria Wern and her colleagues race to solve the copycat murders, they find themselves drawn into a maze of ancient Norse beliefs.

In Swedish with English subtitles.
